Defending Champions Etoile FC may have breezed through Gombak United at ease claiming a 2-0 victory but coming to play the Cheetahs this Monday at the cauldron of Hougang stadium can be a different brew altogether.

The french outfit have since field new players this season but are still charge up the standings in the league in third place with 2 games in hand whilst most teams have already played 14 games.

Another tough bump on the road. Leaders of the pack, Tampines Rovers travelling to play Cheetahs at the Hougang stadium this coming Thursday 19th May. The Stags extended their lead as they secured a comfortable 3-1 win against the Japanese side of Albirex Niigata.

National striker Aleksanda Duric also leading the pack of top scorers for this season with a total tally of 12 goals.

The last time the 2 teams sized up, the Protectors delivered a 5-0 thrashing to the Cheetahs, and this time round the Hougang lads are looking for pay back.

Home United now claim second spot when they recently dispatched Gombak United to a 4-1 beating, and are now trailing 1 point behind league leaders Tampines Rovers who have one game in hand. Etoile FC are not too far behind in third.

Trials for U-16 and U-18

 
 

Hougang United Football Club will be holding trials for Under 16s and under 18s at the Hougang Stadium on 17th May 2011 (Tuesday).

Under 16s
9.00am - 11.00am

Under 18s
3.00pm - 5.00pm

Interest participants are requested to bring along their own football attire and boots to the trials. And also, please drink enough fluids before the trials.

Directions
Hougang Stadium is located at the North-east part of Singapore. Along Hougang Avenue 2, Hougang Stadium can be reached within minutes from CTE exit of Ang Mo Kio Ave 3. Should the train are used, the nearest station will be Ang Mo Kio and you can easily connect yourself to bus service 25 or 132 which stops just beside the stadium. or you can simply take other bus service like 55 and 854. Service numbers 165 and 72 can also be taken from outside Ang Mo Kio MRT Station and Yio Chu Kang MRT Station respectively. However, these two bus service numbers will reach the other side of the Stadium.

If you're taking the North-East Line MRT, alight at Hougang MRT Station and the Stadium will be within walking distance. Alternatively, you can take bus service number 165 from Hougang Bus Interchange and alight at the 3rd bus stop.
