Midfield - Ante Barac

Although the Bobby Charlton look-alike midfielder did not get a goal, he was the star in his side's 3-1 win over Woodlands Wellington.

The midfield mastero dominated the centre of the park and created numerous chances for his teammates through set-pieces. Barac was also unlucky as one of his free-kicks rebounded off the post.

Goalkeeper - Fadhil Salim
Down to 10 men and a goal up at the break agains the league champions. What will be your team's course of action? Defend of course!

Hougang came away with an unlikely point after some heroic defending in the second-half to deny the Stags. The entire Hougang defence put in a sturdy shift at the back and Fadhil orchestrated it perfectly. Only a late late goal denied the Cheetahs a famous win.

Centre-back - Stanislav Vidakovic
It was never an easy task going against the champions but Vidakovic dealt with the threats of Aleksandar Duric and Jamil Ali with much ease and never looked troubled in the game.

The Croatian has been excellent since joining Hougang this season and if he can keeps his performance up, he would definitely be one of the defender to beat this season.

OPOD's S-League Team of the Week round 5

By OPOD
This week of local league action saw both of last season’s top two teams notch up their second wins on the trot, as they recover from their poor starts. A seven-goal thriller was served up between SAFFC and Courts Young Lions, with the Warriors edging the game. Geylang crashed to another heavy defeat away to Brunei DPMM, while Balestier sit at the top of the table after the surprise package of the season thus far managed to beat Woodlands 2-0.

Croatian Stanislav Vidakovic could not prevent his side going down to Home United, but he certainly tried his best. The Hougang centreback dealt adequately with the fearsome Protectors attack, and nodded in a late consolation header to give his side some hope.

Left forward - Jordan Webb
The majestic Jordan Webb made it 3 goals in 3 games as he helped Hougang preserve their unbeaten run this season. He opened the scoring with an unstoppable right-footed shot from outside the area and continued to threaten Geylang's defence throughout the whole match. If the Canadian winger is able to maintian his goal scoring form, he might be the man who can bring Hougang a trophy this season.

Striker - Ignatius Ang
Coming on as a subsitute in the match, Ignatius Ang did exactly what he was told by Hougang coach Nenad Bacina and scored the second goal which successfully wrapped up the game for the Cheetahs. His well-timed header meeting team-mate Fazli Jaffar's cross showed his alertness and skills. Also, Hougang's attack became livelier and sharper after the forward came on. The Singapore youth international is sure to be a player to look out for if he can maintain his form.

Goalkeeper - Ng Jia Fa
Former National Football Academy trainee Ng Jia Fa was Hougang's second-choice goalkeeper up till his impressive performance in their last league fixture against the Young Lions. Having been unexpectedly fielded for his first full ninety minutes of the season, Ng Jia Fa made several brilliant saves, managing to maintain a clean sheet against his young opponents. If Ng Jia Fa was to maintain his current form through the season, Hougang United will definitely be a tough nut to crack.
