Hougang United records their second away win with a resounding 5-0 win against Tanjong Pagar United on a Monday night that witnessed a complete bulldozing of the home side.

In the space of the first 15 mins, Ratna Suffian opened the scoring with yet another header from a set piece. This time round from a corner kick courtesy of Duncan Elias.

Just before the whistle blew for the second half, Noor Ali doubled the Cheetahs goal advantage with simplest of tap ins. Jordan Webb marched down the the left flank and cut one back for the '100 goals' veteran to slot in the goal that closed the chapter for the first half.

2-0 to the Cheetahs at the break.

The third goal came suddenly even catching the Hougang United supporters off guard as they returned to the stands from their 15 min intermission. Diego Oliviera found space on the left flank of the Jaguar's defence and he crossed one in for Noor Ali to volley a shot into the back of the Jaguars' net.

The Cheetahs were still raring to go. In the 55min, Brazlian striker Diego registered his first goal after some clever passing between Jordan Web and Mamadou Diallo to gleefully chip the goal in from the near post.

Diallo Mamadou also got his name on the score sheet when he capitalized on a poor clearance from a corner kick. He was first to react and headed pass the Jaguar's keeper to settle the evening with a 5-0 score line.

Hougang coach Aide Iskandar was very pleased with the win.

“We eased off a little near the end, but there were many pleasing things in the game, such as Noor Ali scoring two, Diego scoring a good goal and lasting the whole game, as well as Diallo and Ratna getting on the scoresheet.”

I think the best part of the match was with the crowd of the Black and Orange.

Black Army! Black Army!

We did pretty well on the stands too, introducing new cheers from new friends who have recently paid homage to the football of Hougang United. Thank you all for your support and faith, and I'll be seeing you boys at the next match.

  1. Hey good blog about the cheetahs. Maybe can add player ratings and your man of the match also to the match report?

  2. Hi there Anon. Yup, it has come to my attention that there is a need for player statistics and ratings, and I agree there should be one. Will be looking into it in the future. I'll do my best. Cheers! :)
