May the better team prevail..and that was what exactly happened at Woodlands Stadium last night. Hougang United came on confidently in their away game against the Rams and showed their nice style of play to gain victory.

The Cheetahs were very much dominating the whole game with their first goal of the game was made by Jordon Webb on the 29th minute with a superb long shot. Following that in the 3rd minute of the second half, a penalty was awarded to the Cheetahs and taken by Jordon Webb where he easily put it at the back of the net of the Rams.

Not long after again on the 56th minute, Hougang United presses their opponent and bagged in their final goal of the night by Vidakovic leaving the mess of Woodlands Wellington goalkeeper, Ahmadulhaq Che Omar and some defenders standing around confused, thinking that it should be an offside while Fabien Lewis measly missed to save the ball at the corner of the post.

Woodlands Wellington though did not played their best at their home ground however managed to consolidate themselves with a nice header from Goh Swee Swee with 19 minutes left into game.

The Rams played a lot of counter attacks but failed to impress as their Korean forward Moon Soon Ho always loses the ball when at his feet. His performance can be seen deteriorating as far as this season has come to. With the transfer window coming in 2 months time, it looks appropriate for the rumours that Moon will be replaced. Sadly not only him, their other foreign player and captain of team Danial Hammond (a defender) was also seen to be clearing balls aimlessly and fails to command a good line of defence.

Assistant coach of Woodlands Wellington Clement Teo however did not comment anything on the getting new players or not but say to wait for the transfer window to open and “maybe” they will get someone new. He also emphasized that it is up to “the management to decide” on such matter.

Clement also expressed disappointment with the loss and admitted that they have played with a better team. “ We basically lost to a better team, we tried but I think we could have done better. I wouldn’t want to comment on individual but just that we lost..”.

Apparently that statement indeed shows how much there was a concern on some individual players performance. At this point, we can only wait till that transfer window is open. It is set to be from 4th until the 29th of June, halfway through the season.
