Hougang United were served their 2nd heaviest defeat in this season by their Japanese counterparts Albirex Niigata (S) FC at the Jurong East Stadium last night. It was a one sided event as the Cheetahs lost their composure from the start of the whistle.

Discipline in the defence as well as the midfield engine seem to have collapsed under the sheer attacking gamut of the White Swans and the Cheetahs were left hapless for the entire 90mins.

We were truly outclassed.

The White Swans open the flood gates very early in the proceedings. Striker Shotaro Ihata banging in 3 goals in quick succession under half an hour and collecting his second hat trick for this season. His first hat trick was against SAF in April.

Second half, 3-0 to Albirex.

Second half restarted with optimism from fans banking on a comeback but the night could not be salvage as Albirex continued flexing their muscles and proved to be the better attacking side of the 2 teams.

Japanese midfielder Atsushi Shimono increased the White Swan's lead with a brilliant volley from a free kick. The loose ball from the set piece found the feet of Shimono just out the penalty box and he fired a rocket into the top left corner.

4-0 the score board read and the similar feel of dread slowly crept into the bantering cheer folk of the Hougang Hools but still these fans boys rallied their voices and did not waver.

And Hougang United replied with a consolation goal courtesy of Vitor Borges who opened his scoring account for the Cheetahs. 4-1 the score.

But Albirex had the final say and they capped the evening with another goal by forward Yosuke Saito.

In the 89th min, Japanese striker capitalzed on a defensive mixed up between Cheetahs keeper and the last man for a very easy tap in, that left the Hougang fans jaws wide opened with disbelief. 5-1! *pull hair*

It seem like a cruel flash back to the game between Gombak when their defender also had a similar blunder that allowed Jordan Webb to sneak past a goal. Only this time, we were the culprits.

Oh well..We'll just have to dust ourselves and get on with the next match with SAF FC this Sunday.

A 5-1 beating for Hougang United. Oh the pain, the pain! Just watch the pain!! :) he he
