Diallo celebrating the deadlock
Friday night could have ended up with a different scoreline but 1-0 win is still a win for the Cheetahs and they now proceed on to the next round of the RHB Singapore Cup, with the possibility of playing either Pattaya United FC (Thailand) or Okkthar United FC (Burma) in round 2.

The U-19s of the Harimau Muda were a pretty tough side to undo although Hougang United had possession for most of the time. Both sides had decent chances but never did cause much concern for the keepers at both ends.

A slight injury scare on Jordan Webb early in the proceedings caused fans to be little concerned but the Canadian soon recovered and was up and about in the flanks.

The Cheetahs seem to pressed on harder in the second half and so did the Young Tigers as both sides pit their wits and brawn against each other but without much dividend as they both saw a couple of efforts slipped past their grasp.

Winger Fazli Jaffar's futile connection with a Diallo's cross infront of an open goal only brought about the fustrating "Oohs" of the Hougang United fans.

Harimau Muda's midfielder Farizzuan saw his long shot blocked by the cross bar after collecting a loose ball from a freekick.

The match went into extra time, and it was only during the 95th min that Guinean Midfielder broke the deadlock with an amazing solo effort.

Diallo ledge on to a pass from almost the center of the park and made his way into the penalty box where he unleashed a right footer to sink in the goal into the the bottom right, leaving the Young Tigers Keeper no chance.

Have to give respect to this U-19s of the Malaysian national squad. They are a really fast and skillful bunch of youngster, and they really gave Hougang United hard time. :)
