 Gombak United    vs    Hougang United

"What's your beef with Gombak?"

Hougang United's performance on that night when they hosted Balestier Khalsa can be summed up in the words of avid Cheetahs supporter Ian Su Genping as, "Bitter sweet..."

Fast forward to Tuesday, Gombak United FC have only lost twice this season, and are currently 6th in the S-league. Their latest defeat, a 1-0 to SAFFC. Gombak were on a triple winning streak only to see their run cut off by the Warriors, and will be looking to re-establish that favourable form.

While Hougang United who are not too far behind at 8th, will be given another daunting task of the taking the bull by it's horns.

Head Coach Aide Iskanda he will  have to ponder over his tactics and examine the fortifications of his back 4. The Cheetah's have so far been second only to Tanjong Pagar for letting the most numbers of goals, at 18 and 20 respectively. Let's look forward to improvement in that department.

That being said, we should pay tribute were credit is due. Great foot work by Mamadou Diallo in his last match. His presence on the pitch has such great impact on the game, it would be nothing short of "sian" to exclude him from the line-up.

Our attacking front of Carlos Delgado and Jordan Webb has seen them netting in a combine total of 6 goals this season. 3 a piece. Keep it up guys! Let us all wish Jordan a quick recovery that he may terrorize more defenders in the future.

Duncan Elias David has also opened his scoring account for Hougang United. An asset to the club for his services as a wingback who takes freekicks. :)

Hmm so when is Diego Gamma going to be field? His last game was against Tampines Rovers in February, so I'm still anticipating his return to action.

The defence seems to be the main concern now and if the boys can muster themselves a solid backline, and with the attacking form they have right now, Hougang United should be on the right track.

(Other news: Emmeric Ong and 3 other Hougang United players (Carlos Delgado, Fazli Jaffar, Jordan Webb) were amongst the S-League all-star selected for this Saturday's charity match against Albirex Niigata.)

As always, I will be at Jurong West Stadium lending my voice and support, and so will the cohort of Hougang United Supporters. Let's entertain our hosts with our barrage of songs. :)

Come on Cheetahs! Chew'em bulls up!!
