Not the out come one wishes for but the overall match experience was pretty entertaining. The loss wasn't as important as the fighting spirit displayed by the Cheetahs.

Stags wingman Ahmad Latiff opened the scoring when he broke through the Hougang defense to lop the ball over the keeper (14'). Few minutes later, Tampines Rovers were awarded a questionable penalty (30') and the Hougang supporters were quick to show their displeasure with the referee's decision, calling out to him for 'interigation'... :) The Cheetahs were trailing 2-0 at half time.

10 mins into the second half, Hougang United were given a penalty, Carlos Delgado put one in for the Cheetahs, 2-1 the score. (51')

But Tampines Rover pointman Aleksandar Duric swiftly replied with a goal at the restart of the game to stretch their lead to 3-1 (52').

Hougang United never gave up and pressed on from the wings and on the 57th min Basit Hamid connected with a cross and slotted the ball pass Hassan Sunny to make the score 3-2 (57'). And for us Hougang supporters, that goal just drove us crazy. Great build up and finishing Cheetahs! :)

The absence of Brazilian striker Diego Gamma de Oliviera in the earlier half and midfielder Mamadou Diallo in the last quater of the second half, both due to injury, left the Hougang side vulnerable. Tampines Rovers took advantage of the duos missing presence and went rampage to conclude the overall score to 5-2 in the closing minutes. (85') (90')
