Gombak travel to the Hougang Stadium tonight to take on Hougang as they continue their climb up the table. Currently in ninth place, a win here for the Bulls will see them leapfrog Hougang into eighth place as both teams are level on points before tonight’s clash.

A win for Hougang though, will put them just one point away from 7th-placed SAFFC who are set for their worst-ever finish this season. The Cheetahs were made to rue two dropped points in their last game, allowing Woodlands Wellington to equalise twice after they had twice taken the lead.

Nenad Bacina will no doubt demand better from his charges today as they look to equal or even better last season’s 7th-placed finish. Towering centre-back Stanislav Vidakovic remains sidelined with a knee problem which will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

The Bulls on the other hand, are on a five-match unbeaten run with two draws and three wins. The latest coming from their narrow 1-0 win over the Courts Young Lions in their last game with Iqbal Hussain scoring his first senior goal Gombak in that game.

Gombak have been impressive going forward this season, but their finishing has let them down time and again. Five goals in their last five games and averaging just one goal per game in their unbeaten five-game run is indeed worrying for K Balagumaran’s Bulls who are though, backed up by a steady backline consisting of Ismail Yunos, skipper Obadin Aikhena, Walid Lounis and Nurullah Hussein.

They will however have to make do without Walid for this one as he is suspended after accumulating four yellow cards. This should mean Ismail pushing inwards to partner Aikhena in the heart of defence with K Vikraman filling in at right-back where he has deputised relatively well this season.(SOURCE)
