The Cheetahs will be looking to extinguish the demons of the Singapore Cup disappointment this Wednesday when they travel to Bedok Stadium to face Geylang United.
Fresh from the wounds of a bitter defeat, Hougang will be looking to spur on their chances in the league by giving their best against bottom side Geylang United.
The Eagles, with only two victories all season, will be looking on to take their chances for a surprise victory. Coach Kanan has a fresh team to take on the Cheetahs, after not playing a competitive game since mid June.
The Eagles too, had a new acquisition in Frenchman Stefan Milojevic, during the season break. He will be looking forward to take his place in the middle of the pitch, replacing the departed Rhema Obed.
The Cheetahs too will have top scorer Jordan Webb back from suspension, plus Stanislav Vidakovic, who was sent off in the cup tie against Gombak United, They must not take Geylang United lightly, especially with the in-form Jozef Kaplan and Milojevic linking up together.
The last time both teams met was in March, when Jordan Webb and Ignatius Ang’s goals had made Hougang victorious on home soil. However, on away grounds, and Hougang having a small percentage victory at Bedok, the path to victory might prove to be difficult
Will the Cheetahs emerge victorious in Bedok? Or will Geylang spring up a surprise victory against the wounded Cheetahs??
