Match Preview: Tampines vs Hougang

This match brings about memories of the infamous 2-0 win over the Stags in May but this coming Wednesday will be a different story altogether as history shows that when Hougang United played away at Tampines early in the season, they were trounced 5-2.

Just last week the Stags were beaten 2-0 by Geylang United whose back line stood against the onslaught of Duric and Latiff and the Eagles prevailed. However, Tampines Rovers got back on track to winning ways with their 1-0 win against Balestier Khalsa over the weekend.


The Cheetahs will be without their inspiational Captain Shariff who is on the suspension list so the back pairing will most likely be Ratna Suffian and Sharil Alias.

Jordan Webb should be available for this match and so too will Mamadou Diallo, but it's still up to the Coach Aide to decide. Winger Fazli Jaffar should be available too.

Hougang United have had some time off to re-adjust after going down 2-0 to Courts Young Lions on 2nd August at the Jalan Besar Stadium, and they should be able to put on a better fight this time round. :)
