FAS fines Etoile and Hougang for pre-match fracas in May

SINGAPORE: After meeting over five sessions for a record 18-and-a-half hours in total over nearly three weeks, the Football Association of Singapore's disciplinary committee finally delivered its verdict on Tuesday over the pre-match fracas involving French outfit Etoile FC and Hougang United in their S-League meeting on May 23.

The committee fined each club S$10,000, with S$5,000 suspended, as long as there is no similar incident this season.

Etoile's Serge Suchon was fined S$1,500 and suspended for five matches, while team-mate Hadama Bathily was fined S$2,000 and suspended for seven games over the incident at Hougang Stadium.

Hougang's assistant coach Hasrin Jailani was fined S$1,000 and suspended for three games, while defender Shariff Samat was hit with a S$1,500 fine and suspended for five matches.
