Home United travel to the Hougang Stadium in search for their next win after their 3-0 victory over a defensive Gombak United. That win puts Home 4th in the S-League.

As for Hougang United, last week's 5-2 lost to Tampines Rover would have given them time to reflect and compose themselves for the up coming match against the protectors.

Tampines Rovers left it late with two goals in the last five minutes as they beat Hougang United 5-2 in their first home Great Eastern-YEO’S S.League match at Tampines Stadium on Tuesday evening.

They had struck earlier through Ahmad Latiff Khamarudin and a brace from Aleksandar Duric, before Hougang replied through Carlos Delgado and Basit Abdul Hamid to set up a tense final half-hour.

After registering their first home win on valentines day against Woodlands Wellington, Hougang United will travel to the Tampines Stadium this coming Tuesday with optimism after the Stags managed only a 1-1 draw from Gombak United at the Jurong West stadium.

It would be too bold to suggest that Cheetahs fustrate their host with a smiliar score line or even pull an upset but then anything can happen in soccer, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this.

I would be looking forward to Mamadou Diallo's midfield charge and the same encouraging display that gave Hougang United it's first win against the Rams.

Hougang Utd edge out Woodlands Wellington in S.League

By Shamir Osman

SINGAPORE: If there was any concern that the close links between the boardrooms of Hougang United and Woodlands Wellington would affect the football on the pitch, the Great Eastern-Yeo's S-League fixture at the Hougang Stadium on Monday night laid it all to rest.

Seven yellow cards, one red, a host of crunching tackles, 1,600 spectators in the stands and the vigorous chants from the home side's fan club, ensured entertainment for all as Hougang ran out 1-0 winners.

Hougang United left it until very late before grabbing the lead in their Great Eastern-YEO’S S.League match against Woodlands Wellington on Monday night at Hougang Stadium.

Fortunately for them, Mamadou Diallo’s strike five minutes from time was enough to send their highly vocal supporters on their way home, happy with the 1-0 win and the three points.

Fans rally behind rebranded Cheetahs

Paul Green

They have met many times before when the home side at Hougang Stadium was known as Sengkang Punggol, but it is all going to be different now as Woodlands Wellington should discover on Monday at the opening home game of the Great Eastern-YEO’S S.League season for the locals.

When a boisterous group of new fans of the Dolphins began to congregate mid-season in 2010, wearing insignia that bore the name ‘United4United’, it may not have seemed too relevant to the uninitiated.

Hougang woo fans with image change

Elwyn Lee

Since their debut in the S.League in 1998, the club that had established itself as representatives of the northeast had always carried an aquatic link.

Come the start of the 2011 season, however, Sengkang Punggol will be moving up to dry land, following a renaming exercise that will see the club bear the new identity of Hougang United.
