Fresh off a 4-0 victory over NFL1 team SSC at the Padang last Sunday, with goals scored by Syaqir, Diallo, Hafeez and Shameer. One would expect a much sterner test from SAFFC than the NFL1 and possibly less rotations as coach Bacina looks to narrow down on the 22 players who saw minutes against SSC.
SAFFC, following a dissapointed season by their standards, seeing them unable to compete for the league for the first team in a few seasons, are in a rebuilding stage. Coach Richard Bok has further lost 10 players through a conjuncture of LionsXII signings and players being released, but is optimistic that Japanese playmaker Sakurada is the man to finally fill the boots of Thersak Chaiman, who left in 2009.
2011 S-League top scorer Mislav Karoglan is no longer an unknown quantity in the S-League, but the new Japanese signings led by Sakurada should provide him even more goalscoring opportunities and the power of this partnership has already been seen, with a strong 2-0 friendly victory over Home United in late December 2011 suggesting so.
